Call for abstracts
The submission for session proposals is NOW open!
We are pleased to announce that the call for abstracts for Water Quality 2012 has been launched.
Deadline for abstract submission: 20th April 2012
Notification of acceptance: 27th April 2012 or shortly thereafter
This information is also available at http://www.accwa.net
Information for authors
Submission to the conference is by extended abstract only - full papers will not be requested. Please note that the reviewing panel will determine which mode of presentation will better suit the theme of your abstract and although they will try to accommodate any preference made by the authors at the time of submission, the panel's decision is final and non-negotiable.
Abstracts should be submitted as Microsoft Word documents and be no more than 1500 words in length (exclusive of title, authors, etc.). Title, authors’ names, authors' affiliations and contact author's email address, telephone and fax numbers should also be provided. The abstract should also list up to five keywords to help categorisation into one of the conference themes.
Authors are recommended to use a common font type (Ariel or Times New Roman preferred) at font size 12, 1.5 line spacing and wide page margins. Footnotes should only be included if absolutely necessary, all acronyms/abbreviations should be explained in full at first usage and any citations expanded into a reference list after the abstract (included in word count). A suggested format is provided here.
When submitting your abstract, please also complete and send the “Abstract Submission – Cover Note” with your submission or it will not be considered by the reviewing panel.
You will be notified on or before 27th April of the outcome of the reviewing panel’s decision. Corrections or requests for clarification will be made at this time with a deadline of 1st June 2012.
All abstracts will be published in the conference booklet, which will be made available online after the conference.
At least one listed author will be expected to have registered for the conference by 1st June 2012.
Further instructions for oral presentations
Each abstract accepted for oral presentation will be assigned a 20 minute slot in the conference programme within an appropriately themed session. All presentations should be conducted in English and use PowerPoint software. Alternative presentation formats may be considered but please contact the conference secretariat to discuss feasibility.
We would like to make presentations available after the conference at the ACCWA Water Quality 2012 webpage. You will be asked for your permission to upload presentations at the final submission/notification deadline of 1st June 2012.
Further instructions for poster presentations
Please note that each poster will be accompanied by a two-minute presentation which addresses as a minimum:
- What were the aims and objectives of the work described?
- What was the key finding of the work?
Each poster should be A0 portrait or A1 portrait/landscape, in English and using an appropriate font size. Further formatting information will be sent when notified of success.
