Martin Tillotson
water@leeds Director of Industrial Research
Dr. Martin Tillotson joined water@leeds at the beginning of February 2011. This is a new role which will see Martin further stimulate and coordinate the water related research agenda across the University, with a particular emphasis on developing and quantifying impact in the industrial sector and attracting and diversifying funding sources.
Martin obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool in 1997 and has since spent 15 years working in a variety of roles in the water industry. Most recently he has led the R&D department at Yorkshire Water, and was successful in delivering a £16.6M AMP4 (2005-10) R&D Programme as well as securing a doubling of investment for the AMP5 (2010-15) funding period. His research interests are broad and general, reflecting the diverse nature of water and his experience as a programme manager, and he is keen to focus and develop his own research portfolio.
Martin is in the process, and keen, to meet other water@leeds members and start to develop an understanding of the research landscape at Leeds. Please do take the time to introduce yourself at one of the many water@leeds events, or contact him directly:
